Suivo & Siemens give green light

Suivo has won the Hackathon of Network Fire Brigade in collaboration with the City of Antwerp and Siemens.

Winner of Hackathon of Netwerk Brandweer

Siemens, Suivo and the City of Antwerp developed this project in response to the Hackathon Network Fire Service. Our concept won in the “Smart Mobility” category.

Speed and position can be used to determine when exactly the vehicle will arrive at the intersection. The data for this comes from the Push API of the Suivo IoT Cloud Platform. The traffic lights in all opposite directions turn red, and the light in the direction of the priority vehicle turns green.

A test project is currently running at 1 intersection in the city. In the future, this could be rolled out to all 400 intersections in Antwerp. In this way, the priority vehicles can get to the emergency much faster.

Watch the video below to see what this concept looks like in action.
