To strengthen and expand our in-house development team in Edegem, we are looking for a passionate software engineer in java who will collaborate on a daily basis to develop premium quality software.

Our customers are mainly enterprise companies and always find a suitable solution thanks to our IoT Cloud platform (SAAS solution) and wide range of trackers, tags, and sensors. With our trackers, tags, and sensors, we collect data so that our customers’ fleets, machines, tools, and employees can be put to even better use. It makes planning, managing, and analysing ‘a walk in the park’!

To strengthen and expand our in-house development team in Edegem, we are looking for a passionate software engineer in java who will collaborate on developing high-quality software on a daily basis. 

Your role:   

the main focus of your role is to develop and improve the software of the Suivo IoT Cloud platform. You will join an enthusiastic and experienced group of developers and analysts with whom you will work closely. You will focus on developing new features and play an important role in migrations. With the team, you focus mainly on the expansion and partly on the maintenance of the Suivo platform. 

Some of your daily tasks:  

• You will be involved in the development of the entire software cycle.
• You translate the functional specifications into usable code and design.
• You provide advice and input on current and future architecture.
• You coach and are a point of contact for the junior developers within the team.
• You are closely involved in high-level technical innovations, using Google Cloud solutions, machine learning, big data, and IOT concepts, among others.

That is why you are our dream candidate

• You have a higher education in IT with a strong interest in software development.
• You are passionate about innovative solutions for the optimal management of business processes and business assets.
• At least a first professional experience in software development in JAVA and you have knowledge of Spring, Maven, REST, JSON, ….
• In addition, you ideally have an interest in and knowledge of front-end technologies such as TypeScript and Angular or React.
• You have experience working on large code bases and are familiar with Continuous Integration and Test Driven Development.
• Being familiar with database technologies, microservices, and functional programming is a strong plus.
• You enjoy working with large amounts of data, in other words, Big Data is one of your passions.
• Agile and Scrum sound familiar to you.
• You are a motivated team player: creative, flexible, responsible, with a sense of initiative.
